Beauty & Its Relation To Health

Our skin is a mouth, yet we always seem to put the reality of that behind us in our health journey. Much of what we apply to our skin gets absorbed into our bloodstream, as if we are eating our own topical applications. Unfortunately, much of what's out there for beauty products are not even edible. It is arguably the one sector of health that takes the the most research and trouble in finding a truly healthy product...

How To Unleash Your Natural Beauty

Optimize your skin care by refraining from the use of personal care products that include harmful chemicals. You likely come across these chemicals on a daily basis, and if you are having trouble pronouncing it, it's probable that it is a synthetic chemical. Examples of these chemicals include: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), Oxybenzone, Octocrylene, Parabens, and even Fragrance. If you see the word "Fragrance" in the ingredients list, proceed with caution. Fragrances are poorly regulated and the specific compounds used to create a fragrance are usually not listed. Phthalates, which are endocrine disruptors, are often added to fragrances and are therefore not listed on the labels. Plus, many fragrances are known to cause allergic contact dermatitis.

You want to view your skin as being its own mouth, therefore, don't put anything on your skin that you wouldn't consume through your own mouth!

Natural Supplements For Beauty

Foundational nutrients for skin care include: Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Zinc, Selenium, Omega 3's, & Astaxanthin. If you are not consuming a nutrient-dense diet, consider supplementing and covering the bases with the Nutrients 2/Day and fish oil products.
